What is Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard Core AddOn?

Windows Server 2022 Standard Core AddOn è una licenza aggiuntiva per core: serve quando il server ha più core di quelli coperti dalla licenza Windows Server 2022 Standard che hai già. Non è un'edizione a sé e non si usa da sola: si somma alla licenza Standard dello stesso server.

Come si calcolano i core

  • Vanno coperti tutti i core fisici del server, con un minimo di 8 core per processore e 16 core per server.
  • Microsoft vende le licenze core in pacchetti da 2 e da 16 core: scegli la variante in base ai core che mancano.
  • Esempio: un server con un processore da 20 core richiede 20 licenze core, cioè la licenza base da 16 core più 4 core aggiuntivi.
  • Standard permette 2 macchine virtuali quando tutti i core del server sono coperti: per ogni 2 macchine virtuali in più il server va licenziato di nuovo per lo stesso numero di core.

Ciclo di vita

Il supporto standard di Microsoft per Windows Server 2022 termina il 13 ottobre 2026; il supporto esteso prosegue fino al 14 ottobre 2031. Per una nuova installazione valuta anche Windows Server 2025.

Accesso degli utenti

Le licenze core non comprendono le CAL: gli utenti o i dispositivi che accedono al server richiedono le CAL di Windows Server, da acquistare a parte.
