Questa è una licenza per socket. Veeam la classifica come licenza legacy e dal 2019 indica la Veeam Universal License (VUL), a istanze, come licenza principale; consiglia di migrare dalle licenze per socket alla VUL.
Come si conta un socket
Si conta il socket occupato di ogni host che ospita macchine virtuali da proteggere, come lo rileva l'hypervisor. La licenza copre solo le macchine virtuali VMware vSphere e Microsoft Hyper-V: gli altri carichi di lavoro si proteggono con una VUL, e le stesse macchine virtuali non si possono dividere tra socket e VUL.
Limiti dell'edizione
Essentials per socket si vende a pacchetti da 2 socket, fino a un massimo di 6 (3 pacchetti). Non si può unire ad altre licenze per superare il limite e per crescere serve uno SKU di upgrade. Si può combinare con una VUL di edizione Advanced.
